Following a required pre-med undergraduate course of study, today's Doctor of Chiropractic completes an additional four-year program at an accredited chiropractic college. Like other doctors/physicians, a doctor of chiropractic medicine must meet stringent state and federal licensing requirements, follow a strict code of health care ethics, are recognized and reimbursed by insurance carriers, and are approved by governmental organizations and agencies.
